The Marlborough region is located on the North Eastern shores of the South Island of New Zealand and has a population of around 45,000. The region is known for its dry climate, the picturesque Marlborough Sounds, and the Sauvignon Blanc they produce locally.

The regions economy largely consists of Manufacturing, Agriculture, Farming, Forestry and Fishing.

The region consists of one Unitary Authority; the Marlborough District.
